Hotel La Badia Hotel La Badia is a charming and quaint hotel nestle among olive trees overlooking the Gulf of Naples. It is owned and run by an Italian family. The hotel has been in this family for 3 generations and they take great pride in the operation of the hotel. Maria and her family went out of their way to make sure my friend and I were comfortable. They were always there to help us with our travel plans. Maria told us about a grape festival that was going on in a little village near by and it was the highlight of our trip. Our room was a good size and immaculate. The hotel has several terraces where you can just relax and view the Gulf of Naples. The breakfast was delicious. They served cold cuts, cheese, breads, yogurt, fruit, cereal and sweet rolls. The restaurant is located on an outside terrace that serves a prix fixed dinner for 22 Euro. It was quite good. The waiter Antonio was just delightful. The hotel is located on a steep hill and is a pleasant 15 minute walk down to the center of town. I would recommend you take a bus (Sita) back to the hotel as it is a steep climb. It cost about 1 Euro. It departs from the bus station, which is also the location of the train station, and also in front of the Restaurant Fenice. I believe the name of the bus is Agata-Verde, but double check with Maria I don't think you will be disappointed if you decide to stay at La Badia.

Hotel La Badia We really enjoyed our stay here. The view from the hotel are absolutely breathtaking. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Food was excellent. Higly recommended.

Hotel La Badia Excellent value Hotel, a short but challenging walk to town. You have to be fit not for those with mobility issues, but that could be said of Sorrento as a whole. The staff were unfaillingly helpfull and made the holiday for us.

Hotel La Badia My biggest issue with the hotel was the fact that there was no reference in the online hotel information to the fact that the hotel was situated on such a long, high, steep rise from the main road. I had deliberately not chosen other hotels because I noted from the description that there was a long steep walk to reach them and therefore was very disappointed to realise that despite my best efforts I had ended up booking such a hotel because its location was not correctly and honestly described.

Hotel La Badia This hotel was gorgeous. The staff were kind and friendly. Probably the most beautiful place I've stayed in! Tea making facilities would have been good though. Our son enjoyed the stay as much as us. The pool was great. The sightseeing was great but would have enjoyed a couple more days just lazing by the pool and reading in the sunshine! Would have liked more time to enjoy the upstairs balcony which was wonderful/the views were great

Hotel La Badia Das Hotel liegt wirklich in traumhafter Lage. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön, wir hatten eins mit Meerblick und es ist wirklich romantisch, wenn mann in der früh wach wird und man sieht vom Bett aus über den Golf von Neapel zum Vesuv. Sogar die Matratzen waren nicht zu weich, was in Italien nach unserer Erfahrung eher ungewöhnlich ist. Das Frühstück war umfangreich (Wurst, Käse, Eier, Obst, Kuchen). Zum Abendessen können wir nichts sagen, da wir nur Ü/F gebucht hatten. Der Pool ist ok, was toll ist, dass es dort auch schattige Plätze gibt. Durch die sagenhafte Berglage ist wie bereits erwähnt die Aussicht ein "Schmankerl", aber ohne Auto (was ich finde an dieser Küste eigentlich ja nur hinderlich ist) ist das Hotel etwas abgelegen. Man ist zwar bergab relativ schnell (ca. 10 Minuten) über einen Fußweg (sehr schöne Aussicht) in der Stadt, aber zurück gehts halt bergauf (was im Hochsommer durch die Hitze sehr anstrengend sein kann). Es fährt allerdings auch ein Bus, mit diesem hatten wir allerdings weniger Glück. Einmal fuhren wir mit dem Bus hinauf zum Hotel. Dann hielt dieser ca. 2 km vom Hotel weg (so mußten wir an einer doch etwas stark befahrenen und kurvenreichen Straße) wieder bergab gehen. Ein anderesmal wollten wir in die Stadt reinfahren. Waren auch zur gegebenen Zeit an der Bushaltestelle und es kam nichts. Aber rundum kann man das Hotel sehr gut empfehlen und ich würde auch ein zweites Mal dort hinfahren.

Hotel La Badia The location of the hotel above the city and overlooking the Sorrento bay is just great. The relatively small hotel building in a vast olive grove makes it an oasis of tranquility after a day in the hectic and noisy Italian cities. We used the hotel as a haven for day trips in the entire Napoli bay area, including Mt. Vesuvius, Pompeji, Herculaneum, Pozzuoli (Solfatara), the Amalfi coast, Paestum and two hikes in the local mountains. We did all these trips with a rented car (from Naples airport) and it worked out perfect. For visiting the city of Naples we took the boat from Sorrento, which is only a 30 Minutes ride. The hotel provides a breakfast buffet, which we enjoyed. The hotel has a small pool, which we did not use. We spent most evenings in the city center of Sorrento and used to dine in the restaurants there, so we cannot comment on the quality of La Badia's restaurant. Central Sorrento is reached via a steep but nice foot trail (about 20 Minutes). This was of course no problem for young people like us (53 and 59). If you arrive by train in Sorrento with luggage you better reach the hotel by taxi the first time. The La Badia staff was very friendly and helpful. We have been very happy with the clean spacey room and particularly with the view from it. In conclusion, we can recommend the hotel for anyone who values a quiet and splendid location over central downtown liveliness.

Hotel La Badia La position n'est pas centrale, il faut 15minutes à pieds pour arriver au centre..par contre la vue sur le golfe est magnifique et le personnel très aimable et disponible. A conseiller.
